your portal to an exciting new perspective on science and
theology and the often paradoxical interaction between them! Have you ever
wondered who you really are, why you are here, and where
you ultimately are going? Have you ever wondered why the
world is the way it is? In our post-September 11 world these
are especially relevant and meaningful questions, because
we all need to know if a perfectly good and all-powerful
God actually exists and, if so, why He would nevertheless
allow us to torture ourselves to death in the most hideous
ways imaginable. There
can be no doubt that this world of ours is full of evil,
and of course it is up to us to figure out some way of making
sense out of it all.
For many of
us today, God is the grandest topic in the entire universe,
and in the end, is is the only one that ultimately matters.
With this in mind, I would like to invite you to explore
the cosmos with me here at MichaelACorey.com, through the
various books, and articles available at this site.
I have dedicated
my life to the exploration of these fundamental issues,
and there is nothing that would make me happier than to
share these "matters of ultimate significance"
with you. For in the end, it is the depth of our understanding
that will help us to live happier and more fulfilled lives.
This fascinating
and rapidly growing area of study combines the most interesting
aspects of theology with the latest empirical findings in
the natural sciences. It
is important to understand, though, that we can all make
relevant contributions to this emerging dialogue between
science and religion, so please feel free to express
your ideas and questions and I'll respond as quickly as I can. In the process, you'll help to
expand this interdisciplinary field and help it achieve
new heights of conceptual integration and understanding.
I
hope you will feel inspired to use the resources we've pulled
together here to enhance your own study of the field. If
you are at the onset of your exploration, you may find our
Reading Group Guide particularly
beneficial, along with my exciting Encyclopedia
of Science & Religion article on the Anthropic Principle
(Gale, 2003), which provides a succinct overview of many aspects of this
emerging discipline. You might also like to explore the
Research Links I've provided, and
there is an expanded Science &
Religion Bibliography that can be printed out if you
wish.
Finally, I would like to invite
you to return often. I plan to add new resources and information
on a regular basis, so be sure to enter your email address
below for updates on these new additions.
